Prenatal Diagnostics
Late maternity is an indication for prenatal tests. For mothers over the age of 35, the risk of delivering a child with Down's syndrome is about 1:225.
We offer to You to make such hormonal tests, in the first stage of pregnancy. These are non-invasive investigations from blood samples to determine individual genetic risk.
They can be done from the 9th week of pregnancy:
- chorion biopsy ( in the 11th week of pregnancy),
- amniocentesis (amniopuncture) (from the 14th week of pregnancy).
Based on world-wide statistic studies, it seems that infertility treatment (also in-vitro fertilization) does not increase the risk of genetic or anatomical defects.
